Homeschool As A Way of Life

I am homeschooling 5 children - Mikaela is almost 11 and in 5th grade; Eli is 8 and in 3rd grade; Mercie is 5 and in kindergarten; Silas is 3 and Titus is 15 months and they are both actively involved in our school and learning.

My goal for homeschooling is to make it a way of life, not just something we do for a few hours a day. I want learning to take place as a family and become an important part of who we are.

Homeschooling is so much more than math and grammar! It's baking cookies, building forts in the yard with scrap wood and fabric, finger painting with pudding, learning to ride a bike, identifying birds while swinging on the swing set, watching Daddy fix a 4-wheeler or plant wheat in the field. The more I homeschool, the more I realize that the most important learning often takes place while living, not while studying! I know this is not a novel idea, nor am I the first person to discover this. This is just my journey, my life, my experience of making homeschooling a way of life!
